ADDITIONAL INFO
From 1957-59 filmmaker/painter Jordan Belson and sound artist Henry Jacobs created the Vortex Concerts, multimedia environments of sound, light, color and movement in the 65-foot dome of San Francisco’s Morrison Planetarium. Henry Jacobs curated the sound, and the Visual Director was Jordan Belson. Vortex was the first use of experimental music and imagery in a planetarium, and an early experiment in creating immersive environments. (C. Keefer)
